The Writing Hearth
Interested in writing fiction or non-fiction?
The Writing Hearth is a friendly, supportive writing group that meets fortnightly at LC&LC. The group write both fiction and non-fiction, explore new skills, and share short pieces created during the sessions. No pressure, no competition - just a gentle space for imperfect drafts, honest conversations and the quiet joy of writing together.
To be held every Second Wednesday at 10.00 a.m. (School Terms)

Group Facilitator: Tanya Motiani has been part of the writing group for four years as a participant and a co-facilitator. She is a graduate of the University of Melbourne’s Honours program in Literature and remains passionate about all things writerly. Having written two novels and currently preparing final drafts for submission, Tanya brings enthusiasm, care and a genuine love of writing to the group.
Garden Club
The Leopold Community Centre Garden Club meets on the third Monday of the month at 1.00 p.m.
Dimitrij has a wealth of information to share and usually there are free plants available as well.

Scrabble
The Scrabble Group meets every Wednesday at 1.00 p.m. So, if you like a game of Scrabble, why not join the group? A cuppa is included.

Canasta
Combines partnership play with point-scoring, come along and meet new friends.
The Canasta group meets every Tuesday at 1.00 p.m. So, if you would like to learn or enjoy playing the Canasta card game, why not join the group?

Euchre
The Euchre group meets every Thursday at 1.00 p.m. This is a social Euchre card group that is friendly and open to all. Beginners Welcome.
Cost: $5.00 – Includes a cuppa.
Mahjong
The Mahjong group meets every Monday at 1.00 p.m. If you have a little experience in playing Mahjong, or are a master at the game, you are very welcome to join this group.

Book Club
Meets monthly, spaces are limited due to the number of group books available.
The Book Club meets on the first Thursday of each month at 1.30 p.m.

Are you passionate about singing or simply enjoy a good tune? Our community choir is preparing for their special Christmas performance! Why not come along and:
- Meet new friends and become part of a welcoming local group
- Enjoy singing a variety of classic and modern Christmas carols
- No experience needed – all voices are welcome, whether you sing in the shower or on stage
All are Welcome, no audition required. It doesn’t matter if you are a complete beginner or if you are a regular performer. We’d be delighted to hear from you. Held every Tuesday – 2.00-3.00 p.m (School Terms)
